Knot & Nap covers hammocks and hammock stands in more depth than anyone else bothers to. 64 guides, roundups, comparisons and reference pages across 6 sections, built around one observation: almost every hammock buying guide stops at the hammock, and almost every hammock problem is really an anchor problem.

So we cover both halves and the connection between them — every hammock style, every stand type, and the sizing, capacity and weather questions that decide whether the two work together.

Who writes it

Mike M. — Mike M. is the hands-on owner behind Iron Mako Media, the publisher of Knot & Nap. Every guide, roundup, comparison and review on this site carries that byline, because a single consistent author is a trust signal and a rotating cast of pseudonyms is the opposite.

That is the whole author credential, and we are not going to inflate it. We have not added certifications, years in the industry or a job title, because none of those has been established and inventing one would be the same category of dishonesty as inventing a product specification.

Who publishes it

Knot & Nap is published by Iron Mako Media. That is the publisher of record, the entity behind the editorial standards on this site, and the organization you are dealing with if you contact us.

Who it is for

Someone who wants to know everything about hammocks — style by style — and which stand fits their space. Someone who came for a number: a capacity, a span, a bed length. If you want a three-item list and a confident verdict, there are faster sites. If you want the actual specification and a clear statement of where it came from, this is built for you.

What we do not do

We do not run a physical test lab, and we never claim to have personally tested every product we recommend. Where a recommendation rests on another publication's hands-on testing, we name that publication and link it. This is unusual to say out loud and it is the most useful thing on this page — our methodology explains exactly how picks are made.

We also do not publish:

• Prices. A price written into a page is stale within a week. Every buy link goes straight to Amazon so the figure you see is the live one.
• Star ratings or review counts. We have no verified review data for these products and will not manufacture any.
• Customer testimonials. There are none on this site, because we have no real ones to publish.
• Specifications we cannot attribute. Where a manufacturer does not publish a figure, we leave the field blank and say so rather than assuming a typical value.
