Two patterns are worth naming. Hanging height is the spec that decides it
A hammock chair hangs from a single point and the seat has to sit at chair height with your feet down. That means the hook has to be well above your head, not just above the seat. LA SIESTA publishes a required minimum height of 6 ft 11 in for the Habana Comfort and 7 ft 3 in for the Kingsize — measure your ceiling, or your branch, before anything else.

Rope, woven cotton or macrame
- Rope. Open weave, maximum airflow, and it marks bare skin. Polyester rope handles weather where cotton rope does not. The same trade-off as rope versus fabric hammocks.
- Woven cotton (Brazilian style). A tight, soft, warmer seat with no marking. Indoors or under cover.
- Macrame. Knotted cotton, chosen for how it looks. Snags and stretches more than a woven seat.
- Polypropylene. The only genuinely leave-outside fabric here. Firmer than cotton and quick-drying.

How high does a ceiling need to be for a hammock chair?
LA SIESTA publishes a required minimum hanging height of 6 ft 11 in for the Habana Comfort and 7 ft 3 in for the Kingsize. Below that, use a barless chair or a floor stand instead of hanging from the ceiling.
Can you hang a hammock chair from a tree?

Is a hammock chair comfortable enough to sleep in?

Do hammock chairs come with hanging hardware?
