Knot & Nap is published by Iron Mako Media. Product links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may receive a commission from the retailer.
It costs you nothing
The price you pay is exactly the same whether you reach the retailer through one of our links or type the address in yourself. The commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your wallet.
Why you will never see a price on this site
This is unusual, so it is worth explaining. A price written into a page is out of date within a week and misleading within a month. Rather than publish figures that decay, every buy link on this site goes straight to the retailer, where you see the live price.
You will therefore not find prices, discounts, was-and-now figures or deal claims anywhere here. If we cannot verify a number, we do not print it — the same rule that governs every specification on the site. See our methodology.
Commissions do not drive rankings
There is a structural reason this is true rather than just a promise: every product on this site links to the same retailer. There is no commission difference between our first pick and our fifth, so there is nothing for a ranking to be biased toward.
Beyond that, no brand can pay for a placement, a ranking or a mention here. That is a rule in our editorial policy and it is absolute.
How products get chosen
By researching published manufacturer specifications, comparing claims across competing models, reading what publications with genuine testing programs found, and weighing price against specification. We do not run a test lab and never claim to. The full methodology is here, including an explicit statement of what we do not do.
Where the disclosure appears
Near the top of every page that carries product links, beneath every buy button, in the footer of every page, and here in full. Disclosure that only lives on one page is not disclosure.
Other affiliate programs
At present Amazon is the only retailer we link commercially. If that changes — if we join another program that is genuinely better for readers on a particular product — this page will be updated to name it before any such link goes live.
