The 550 lb rating in context

550 lb puts it near the top of the published range and comfortably clear of two adults. Only the 600 lb frames beat it, and those are either sets or less widely stocked. For a standalone stand you can buy easily, this is about as much rating as the market offers.

What universal actually means here

Universal is a compatibility claim, not a guarantee. It means adjustable hanging points that accommodate a range of hammock lengths and both major hammock geometries. It does not mean a 15-foot Presidential rope hammock will fit.
