Three measurements, in this order

Mounting, honestly
The chair is not the risk. The anchor is. A hanging chair puts a single concentrated load into one point of your ceiling, and it is a moving load rather than a static one. Find the joist, use a fixing rated for the job, and if you are not certain what is above the plasterboard, do not guess — that is what a floor stand is for.

Fabric choice changes indoors
Outdoors, fabric choice is a weather decision. Indoors it is a comfort and cleaning decision, which flips the ranking. Woven cotton and macrame are the nicest against skin and the most annoying to keep clean; polyester rope is easy to live with and marks bare legs. Nothing indoors needs the weather resistance of a polypropylene outdoor chair.

How high should a hammock chair hang in a bedroom?
High enough that the seat sits at normal chair height with your feet able to reach the floor. LA SIESTA publishes a required minimum hanging height of 6 ft 11 in for the Habana Comfort, which is a good working number for a barred chair.
Can you hang a hammock chair from a drywall ceiling?
Not from the drywall itself. The fixing has to reach a joist, because a hanging chair applies your full weight plus swing load to one point. If you cannot locate a joist, use a floor stand instead.
How much space does a hammock chair need in a room?
Roughly the floor area of an armchair, plus swing clearance — allow about two feet front and back, and enough width that the spreader bar cannot strike a wall. A barless chair needs noticeably less.
Is a hammock chair or a hanging chair with a stand better for a bedroom?
A stand if you rent, have a low ceiling, or cannot confirm a joist. A ceiling hang if you want the floor clear and the chair to look built in. A stand costs you floor space the hang does not.
Can two people sit in a bedroom hammock chair?
Only in the wide models, and only within the published capacity. The LA SIESTA Kingsize publishes 355 lb and a 4 ft 3 in seat, but it also needs 7 ft 3 in of hanging height, which most bedrooms do not have.
