ENO vs Kammok

The same category, two different answers. ENO optimizes for availability and breadth; Kammok publishes higher numbers on nearly every line and charges for them.

ENO DoubleNest Hammock

Kammok publishes the better specs: the Roo Double is 500 lb, 120 x 69.3 in and 17.1 oz in 40D recycled ripstop, with Dyneema slings and carabiners in the box and a lifetime guarantee. ENO publishes 400 lb, 114 x 76 in and 19 oz for the DoubleNest, and wins on width, price and the fact that every accessory on the market fits it.

Part of our comparisons hub. This is the one hammock comparison where the spec sheet picks a clear winner and the spec sheet is not the whole story. Kammok is higher-rated, lighter and better equipped out of the box, and it is also narrower, dearer and stocked in far fewer places. ENO is the category default, which is worth more than it sounds when you are replacing a strap in a strange town.

Published specifications from the Kammok Roo Double product page and ENO published figures, with strap data from the 2026 99Boulders strap test.

The Roo wins capacity by 100 lb, length by six inches, weight by nearly two ounces and warranty outright. The DoubleNest wins width by 6.7 in, and width is the dimension that produces the diagonal lay, so a DoubleNest is the flatter bed for one person despite being the shorter hammock. That is the real trade, and it is not what the headline numbers suggest.

Atlas against Python 10 — this one is not close

On suspension the gap is wider than on hammocks. In the 2026 99Boulders strap test the Kammok Python 10 publishes 500 lb combined, 10 ft 2.5 in of length, 8.2 oz and 20 attachment points. The ENO Atlas publishes 400 lb, 9 ft, 9 oz and 15 points. The Python is longer, lighter, stronger and finer-adjusting, and it is the strap we recommend on best hammock straps. The Atlas earns its place on availability alone.

Length is the spec most people under-buy. A 9 ft strap goes around a mid-sized trunk with enough tail to adjust; a 10 ft strap goes around a big one. If your yard has mature trees, the extra 14 inches is the difference between hanging where you want to and hanging where the trees allow — the arithmetic is in how long should hammock straps be.

Breadth against depth

ENO sells tarps, bug nets, underquilts, pillows and two stands, and publishes which fit which. The Ember UnderQuilt page states compatibility with every ENO hammock except the DayLoft and SuperNest, and the JungleNest arrives with a stowable net on a DAC Featherlite spreader bar, a structural ridgeline and a gear loft already attached. Kammok makes a smaller range, but the pieces it does make are strong: the Python 10 straps, the Puffin pillow that clips into Kammok hammocks so it does not end up on the ground, and the Swiftlet stand, which the Bob Vila reviewer calls the best stand they have tested.

Practically, that means ENO is the safer first purchase and Kammok is the better upgrade. If you own neither and expect to build a complete shelter from one brand, ENO removes the fit question. If you own a hammock already and want the next part to be noticeably better, Kammok is where the numbers are.

Which one to buy

  • Buy ENO for the widest bed at this price, the deepest accessory range with published fit, and shelf availability nearly everywhere.
  • Buy Kammok for 500 lb, 17.1 oz, recycled 40D fabric, Dyneema slings and carabiners included, and a lifetime guarantee.
  • Buy the Python 10 either way. It is the best strap in the 99Boulders test and it works on any gathered-end hammock, including every ENO.
  • Look elsewhere if you need a flat lay or more than 500 lb — see heavy duty hammocks and best camping hammocks for stomach sleepers.

Common questions

Is Kammok better than ENO?

On published specifications, mostly yes. The Roo Double publishes 500 lb, 120 x 69.3 in, 17.1 oz and a lifetime guarantee against the ENO DoubleNest 400 lb, 114 x 76 in and 19 oz. ENO wins on width, on price and on having an accessory for everything with a published fit list.

Which is wider, the ENO DoubleNest or the Kammok Roo Double?

The DoubleNest, at a published 76 in against 69.3 in. Width is what gives you the diagonal lay, so the DoubleNest is the flatter bed for one person even though the Roo is six inches longer.

Does the Kammok Roo come with straps?

No. It ships with two Dyneema Racer Slings and two Kanga Claw carabiners rated to 4,720 lb of force, plus an attached roll-top stuff sack, but tree straps are a separate purchase — the same as with ENO.

Are Kammok straps worth it over ENO Atlas?

In the 2026 99Boulders test the Python 10 publishes 500 lb combined, 10 ft 2.5 in, 8.2 oz and 20 attachment points against the Atlas 400 lb, 9 ft, 9 oz and 15 points. Longer, lighter, stronger and finer-adjusting, and they work on any gathered-end hammock.

Can I use a Kammok underquilt or pillow with an ENO hammock?

Suspension and quilts are broadly interchangeable between gathered-end hammocks, but the Kammok Puffin pillow integrates specifically with Kammok hammocks, which is its main feature. For a DoubleNest, the ENO Ember is the quilt whose fit is a published compatibility statement rather than an inference.
